On March 28, 2025, a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck near Mandalay, Myanmar, with tremors reaching Bangkok, Thailand. The quake caused significant structural damage, including the collapse of a high-rise construction site in Bangkok's Chatuchak district, resulting in multiple casualties.

Casualties and Damage:

  • Bangkok: At least six fatalities and 22 injuries have been reported. Over 100 individuals remain unaccounted for following the collapse of a 30-story government office under construction.

  • Myanmar: The earthquake has claimed over 1,000 lives, with 2,376 injuries and 30 missing persons. Major infrastructure, including buildings, bridges, and roads, has been severely damaged, particularly in Mandalay.

Rescue and Relief Efforts:
