Coventry, UK | 2026
In a notable development within the
UK’s international education and employability sector, Coventry-based EdTech
startup Qbay Career, founded by Indian entrepreneurs Fazil Karatt
and Dr. Mohammed Shafeeq, has been formally invited by the British
Council to participate in discussions focused on strengthening international
student career pathways.
The engagement, described as part of
ongoing efforts to enhance graduate employability outcomes, brought attention
to Qbay Career’s growing impact in connecting international students with
structured job opportunities across Europe.
Headquartered in Coventry, Qbay Career
has reported supporting more than 100,000 students in 2025, offering
career mentoring, job-readiness training, and employer-network access. The
company operates across 27 countries and works with students pursuing careers
in the UK, Ireland and Germany.
According to company representatives,
its model focuses on structured preparation that aligns international graduates
with UK workforce requirements, particularly within finance and public
sector-related industries.
A distinguishing feature of the firm’s
operations is its “100% Interview Call Guarantee”, introduced in 2021,
which aims to ensure eligible candidates receive interview opportunities
following completion of its employability training programs.
The organisation also reports a 98%
enrolment-to-success rate, citing strong placement and interview outcomes
among registered candidates.
Since 2023, Qbay Career has
collaborated with Coventry University as an official career development support
partner. The partnership includes workshops, employability enhancement sessions
and industry engagement initiatives for international students.
Beyond the UK, the firm states it
received recognition from Finnish authorities in 2025 and was invited to
discuss potential expansion of its employability model within Finland’s labour
market ecosystem.
In addition to job placement services,
Qbay Career offers free counselling services, including psychological support
and non-clinical career guidance sessions. Co-founder Dr. Mohammed Shafeeq, who
also serves within the NHS, highlighted the importance of integrating mental
well-being with employability training.
Industry observers note that as the UK
remains one of the world’s leading destinations for international students,
graduate employment outcomes are increasingly central to institutional and
governmental discussions.
The British Council’s engagement with
Qbay Career reflects a broader emphasis on improving structured career pathways
for international students and fostering stronger links between higher
education and employment markets.
